WHAT’S INVOLVED IN SALES?

We have over 900 Sales colleagues spread across our 35 brands in the UK and Ireland, ranging from Sales Executives and Showroom Assistants to Technical Sales Managers. Our Sales teams support a variety of customers over many different industries; new buildings and renovation, automotive and transport, and civil engineering to name a few.

As a Sales colleague you’ll work to build relationships with our customers to understand their requirements and help them with the products and solutions they need for their project. You’ll continuously be looking to identify new opportunities to support customers with our expertise, high-performing products and bespoke solutions. 

Our customer base ranges from national businesses to SME’s and we sell a variety of products and solutions from high performing glass to plasterboard, insulation and generalist building materials. Our Sales teams work across a variety of locations, with some colleagues based on site in our branches and others working remotely or from our offices across the UK and Ireland. The huge amount of variety in the Sales profession at Saint-Gobain lends itself to a vast amount of opportunity for career progression and mobility, whether you’d like to progress within the same Saint-Gobain brand or try your hand at a new sector through one of our other brands.

Meet some of our colleagues to learn more about their careers in Sales at Saint-Gobain.

I am part of the Technical Sales team which specifies plasterboard and plaster systems in large projects. I work with design teams, architects, main contractors and subcontractors to find solutions to meet their requirements in terms of fire, acoustics, thermal and structural performance. Because we are customer facing, it is important not only to capture customer feedback and market insight, but to also bring the businesses new products and systems to the market. A typical day involves meeting customers or working on specifications to detailing and assisting specifiers with technical queries.
