WHAT’S INVOLVED IN BRANCH MANAGEMENT?

In the UK and Ireland, Saint-Gobain has a large retail network spanning more than 780 retail locations which supply more than 400,000 general and specialist building materials to the construction industry.

21 of our brands require Branch Managers, from builders’ merchants Jewson and JP Corry, to specialist tile distributor CTD Tiles. Our branches span across the UK and Ireland offering a huge amount of opportunity in terms of the variety of role, location and specialism.

As a Branch Manager, you’ll look after a team of colleagues in branch, striving to create an inclusive and engaging environment for your team and to go above and beyond for our customers. You’ll provide excellent customer service to our core customer base of trade professionals, as well as the less experienced customer who will look to you for expert advice.

The majority of our branches are open 6 days a week with core day time opening hours and we’re always open to working flexibly where possible in terms of days, hours and location of working.

With our vast branch network, there will be plenty of opportunities for career progression at Saint-Gobain, whether that’s progressing within the same brand, developing your career through moving to another branch/Saint-Gobain brand, or changing function entirely to pursue a different career within the Group.

EMBRACING DIVERSITY

We’re continuously working to become a more diverse and inclusive employer. We believe that diversity fosters innovation, helping our teams to operate productively and make better decisions, as well as creating a more enjoyable work environment for our employees.

We already employ many fantastic people from diverse backgrounds, but still want to do more. We’re keen to hire talented people regardless of their background, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, taste in music, fashion sense, or anything else that makes you, you.

FIND OUT MORE FROM OUR COLLEAGUES

Meet some of our colleagues to learn more about their careers in Branch Management at Saint-Gobain.

I joined JP Corry in 2003. I was first employed as a Sales Representative in our Carrickfergus branch in County Antrim for over two years. I was then appointed as Branch Manager of the Carrick branch and have since managed several other JP Corry branches, mainly Lisburn where I have remained, on and off, since 2007. In December 2018, I was promoted to Branch Director, continuing to manage Lisburn but also overseeing our Hillview, Andersonstown and Carrickfergus branches. I manage the day-to-day operations of our Lisburn branch and support the Branch Managers in my cluster (Carrickfergus and Hillview). The duties are broad-ranging and cover EHS (environment, health and safety), sales and commercial activities, logistics, HR, administration and promoting corporate social responsibility efforts.
