RECRUITMENT FRAUD

RECRUITMENT FRAUD

Some tips and advice about recruitment fraud.

Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated fraud offering fictitious job opportunities. Contact is usually made out of the blue by email, text or social networks such as LinkedIn.

Important: Our in-house recruitment team do approach potential candidates on LinkedIn. However, we would never make an offer of employment or expect to see any bank details or personal identification ahead of an interview or meeting at our offices.

Fake communications can sometimes be identified. Check the following, but don’t rely on these points alone:

DOES THE MESSAGE LOOK AND SOUND PROFESSIONAL?

The Saint-Gobain and/or brand names and\ logos can be used on fake documents in order to make the approach seem more legitimate. Warning signs are poor formatting, substantial grammar and spelling errors and an insistence for the recipient to act urgently. Though some recent reports have shown very sophisticated phishing scams tricking even the trained eye – so be careful!

ARE THEY ASKING FOR MONEY?

Saint-Gobain, or associated brands, will never ask for payments to secure any role, either as a contractor or employee.

ARE THEY ASKING FOR PERSONAL INFORMATION EARLY IN THE PROCESS?

No job offers will ever be made from Saint-Gobain, or associated brands, without an interview. Bank account details will never be requested until you have been successful at interview.

If you believe you have received a fraudulent communication:

DO NOT:

  • Respond to unexpected business propositions and/or job offers that are from people you don’t know
  • Engage in further communications
  • Reveal your personal or financial details to anyone you don’t know
  • Send money

DO:

  • Save the message in case of further investigation
  • Report the communication to your local police and provide them with all the information

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Read about what we’re looking for in candidates.

We want to attract a diverse range of people, with different skill sets, backgrounds and personalities. However, at the heart of all our business is a core set of values which we ask all of our employees to operate by. These are made up of our Principles of Conduct and Action, and the Saint-Gobain Attitudes.

Our Principles of Conduct and Action underpin everything we do; they’re the foundation of how we do business ethically. Building upon these principles, the Saint-Gobain Attitudes set a standard in the way we want to work in order to make a reality of our ambition; ‘to help create great living places and improve daily life’.

During the recruitment process candidates are usually asked to complete a personality questionnaire – we then look to understand how well you align to our values – click to find out more about our commitments and values.
