COMMITTING TO NET ZERO IMPACT

Climate change is happening. We’re fully committed to taking action to reduce our impact on the world and strongly believe our products have an important part to play in helping the world to decarbonise.

We were active participants in COP21, which, via the Paris Agreement, saw countries agree on the need to limit global temperature increases to 2%. We are signed up to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. More than that, our CEO Pierre-Andre de Chalendar has actually written a book, ‘Our combat for the climate’ arguing for a more decarbonised world. You can read his latest post on climate change on LinkedIn here.

We know how critical our own journey to net zero is, and we also recognise that real effort, focus and major change is required. We are committed to that – and need all available talent to help us on our journey to net zero.

CONSIDERING CARBON IN OUR INVESTMENTS

We’re actually also one of the only companies in the UK that factors in impact on climate to help decide on which future projects to take forward by introducing an internal carbon price.

We also measure our progress and hold ourselves to account through our annual Corporate Social Responsibility review. This report details exactly how we’re doing and other ways in which we’re helping the community.

And, as well as doing this, because we want to be totally open and honest about our performance – good and bad, we established in 2013 an independent advisory panel to review and critique our progress.

CARBON FACT:

The energy savings generated by our insulation products, when installed in a building, are 90 times greater than the carbon used to manufacture them!
