SAINT GOBAIN COMPANY SHARE SCHEMES

Saint-Gobain’s employees are the biggest shareholder in our company – something we’re very proud of.  All employees of Saint Gobain Ireland have the opportunity to join our annual, Classic Share Plan. The Classic Share Plan enables employees to purchase shares at a discounted price and then the shares you purchase are matched by Saint-Gobain up to a certain threshold.

Saint Gobain Construction Products offer an additional APSS Share Purchase Plan to employees once they meet the criteria for the plan. This plan affords employees the opportunity to purchase shares through a tax saving incentive scheme. The shares are held in trust for a period of years before being released to the employee. All other statutory deductions are applied to the purchase of the shares at source.

ATTRACTIVE PENSION SCHEME

You will have access to an attractive Pension Scheme – helping you save responsibly for your retirement so you can live the life you want once you’ve retired. The scheme is operated through Irish Life. All employees of Saint Gobain join the plan on the first of the fourth month of their employment.

The company also provide the means for Additional Voluntary Contributions should you wish to provide a “top up” on your current pension.

BIKE TO WORK

Colleagues can access our Bike to Work scheme, helping you get on your bike for less! This scheme is operated through BUBBLE.

This scheme aims to encourage you to cycle to and from work. Under the scheme your employer can buy a bicycle and safety equipment for you. This benefit will not be taxable.

There are two limits, depending on the type of bicycle purchased.

  •  €1,500 on pedelecs and ebikes
  •  €1,250 for other bikes.

Your employer can arrange a ‘salary sacrifice’ over an agreed time, not more than 12 months. If so, you give up an agreed amount of your gross salary to cover the cost of the bicycle. You only pay Income Tax (IT)Universal Social Charge (USC) and Pay Related Social Insurance (PRSI) on the balance of your salary.
